Diary: 2024-04-02
Normally I don't schedule presentations or meetings on Tuesdays. That way I can work from home and actually get some work done. However, since I am leaving on Friday for vacation, I scheduled 4 presentations and a meeting with Clara today. All but one of the presentations went really well. The one in question was full of red flags. I had reviewed the RFP and our proposal met their requirements. However, they immediately started asking about things that were not in the RFP. This is a red flag as it means this client does not know what they want and will try to introduce "scope creep," trying to have us do stuff that is not in the contract for free. I made sure to write this in the meeting notes. I hope we don't get that contract as it will be messy.
My meeting with Clara went well. We went over more of her reporting requirements. Tomorrow we are going to go over her staff and what each does. Although she doesn't go on FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) until the end of the month, she is worried the baby may come sooner and wants to make sure I am ready.
I did hear from Larry today. The labs came back on the biopsy and the tumor was benign and she is going to be okay. She is back home now and according to Larry, not very happy as he went to her school to get her homework assignment from her teacher. She also has to do a daily video call with her teacher. I guess she thought she would be getting out of school. Larry sounded in much better spirits and is back to work, working from home. He said she will be home for about a month, and then she can start going back to school.
Cheers for now.
