Love Doll USA Stain Remover Review
UPDATE: it appears that a week after I posted this, the company went out of business. That is sad as their product really worked. I will leave the post up but understand it is no longer available.
This is a review of the Love Doll USA TPE Stain Remover. To be clear, this company did contact me and sent me a sample bottle for free to try. After I tried it on a small stain, I ordered a full bottle (at full price). They did not ask me to do this review or compensate me for it. This review is not paid or sponsored and is my honest review.
One of the biggest fears every TPE doll owner has is the dreaded stain. For those that do not know, TPE is an amazing material with a major flaw. That flaw is that it will absorb any dye that comes in contact with it. The stain will not come off with soap and water or even with baby oil. Now, the stain will fade over time, but that can be a long time but it is no fun having a stained doll, especially if you use your doll as a model (like I do). Recently, I purchase a new (off the rack) item, and even though I washed it several times (to remove all the extra dye) before putting it on her, it was not enough as it stained her shoulders and arms.
Needless to say, I was not happy with myself. The back stains I could hide in photos as well as the light stain on one arm However, the stains on the other arm was bad and would be hard to hide. So I grabbed the bottle of stain remover. Now, here is the one complaint I have about the remover, and that is there are no instructions included with the bottle. I started by first cleaning the doll, first with soap and water and then with baby oil. That removed all of the dirt from her. I then applied the stain remover. I was very generous with the amount, especially where the stain was bad.
I checked on it after a couple of hours and added more to the worst stains, making sure it was well coated. I left it applied for over 24 hours. I will admit that I wasn't that impressed when it was time to clean it off as, although it looked better, it didn't look like it was gone. Next I washed her again with soap and water, applied baby oil and then baby powder.
After it was all done, I could not have been happier. The last picture is of the arm that had the really bad stain. You would have to look closely to see the stain (which will fade over time). I used most of the bottle. I guess I will have to order more now. My advice is do not judge the effectiveness of the stain remover until after you have the doll cleaned up.
Over all, I would definitely recommend the stain remover. I will be ordering more, because I know that no matter how careful I am, I will end up staining her again.
