Diary: 2024-04-08

Today we had what they call "A Fun Day at Sea." That just means we did not stop anywhere. It was sunny and 80 degrees. Kayla and I spent as much time as we could in the sun and hot tubs. There are lots of hot tubs located all over the ship, but we chose to use one on the Serenity deck as it is 21 years or older. 

We attended a seminar on all the great shopping at all the ports of call. I learned about the Crown of Light cut (the most sparkly diamond cut there is). I also learned about Tazanite and Ammolite gems. So pretty and shiny. I also learned that in Aruba, there is a bar that serves shots with a scorpion in it. And, if you drink the shot and eat the scorpion, then they will give you a T-shirt. I challenged my sister to do it, but she said no. I am still thinking about it. 

Tonight for dinner was the first Elegant Night, so we both got all dressed up for the Main Dining Room. I ordered the Escargot while my sister had the Moroccan Soup for our appetizers. I loved the snails (my sister tried one and was not impressed). We both agreed that the soup was a little lacking in spice to be called Moroccan. We both ordered the Duet of Beef for our main course. It was a Filet Mignon and roasted short rib. That was really good. And for dessert, I had the souffle while Kayla had the chocolate melting cake (Kayla is a chocoholic.) 

After dinner, we watched a song and dance show in the main theater and followed that with a nightcap before heading to our room for the night. We are going to be in Curacao tomorrow. I am looking forward to it as I have never been there before.
